A true cord measurement is 4x4x8. The most common fireplace size is about 22” long so our logs are cut 19” to 21” in order to fit the needs of
everyone. The evolved term for this is face cord.
You should order your firewood in one of three sizes:
quarter cord- 4’ tall x 4’ wide
half cord- 4’ tall x 8’ wide
full cord- 4’ tall x 16’ wide
